The 11th house is one of the most discussed houses in astrology. People ask about it themselves while taking a consultation, because it is the house everybody wants to take the benefit of.
Understanding the 11th house lord in astrology tells you where your gains come from, who your real friends are, and how far your network can take you.
In this blog we will cover what the 11th house is, what it rules, how its lord behaves in every house, which planets do well here, and a live consultation story that shows the real side of this house.
What is 11th House in Astrology?
The 11th house is the house of gains, friend circle, social media and networks. It is also the house of elder siblings, groups, communities, big organizations, fulfillment of desires, and everything that comes to you from a large number of people.
In a Kaal Purush Kundali, the 11th house is ruled by the Aquarius sign. Its ruler is Saturn, and Rahu is considered the co-lord. This mix of Saturn and Rahu is why the 11th house deals with the masses, big networks and long-term gains.
Gains and Money Are Not the Same Thing
Many people confuse gains with money, but they are not the same. Money is what you have in cash form, and the 2nd house rules it. Gains are anything you receive without putting in direct effort for it. For example:
- Good friends in life
- Money you receive as a gift
- Gold given as a gift
- Horses, silver coins or any valuable thing that comes to you
All of these are gains, and the 11th house rules them. So for money, check the 2nd house. For gains, check the 11th house.
What is So Special About the 11th House?
Here is the brilliant part: whichever planet sits in the 11th house is destined to give you gains. That is the power of this house.
The 11th house is also an upachaya bhava. Upachaya houses are the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses, and they grow better and better with time. The older you get, the more the 11th house tends to give.
If you want to build a business at an extreme level, or do something for the public or the masses, the involvement of the 11th house is a must. It connects you with groups, masses and crores of people, and that is how big businesses are built.
Is 11th House Good or Bad?
The 11th house is generally a very good house. It is an upachaya house, and any planet sitting there gives gains. That is why it is called one of the best houses for money and success.
But it also has a side that people don’t talk about. Because this house is about friends and networks, a malefic planet like Rahu here can bring betrayal from people you trust.
You will see this in the live story below. So the 11th house is good, but you must also watch the kind of people it attracts.

Live Consultation Story | Rahu in the 11th House
A boy with Rahu in the 11th house came for a consultation and wanted to know specifically about his 11th house. I told him that with Rahu there, his network is brilliant and he knows many powerful people.
But because it is Rahu, I told him to beware of his friends, because they can betray him, and in the end he would be left with only a few friends.
He said yes, that is exactly what had happened. In college he used to meet almost 100 people every day, but as time passed, many friends betrayed him, and now he has hardly 5 friends.
This is the other side of the 11th house. I gave him Rahu remedies, like donating food and some mantras, so that he stops attracting these kinds of friends and people.
After that, his circle improved, and now he has limited but quality friends.
The 11th House in Celebrity Charts
If you go online and look at celebrity charts, you will notice that many of them have a heavy 11th house. Either the 11th house has multiple planets, or the 11th lord is sitting with multiple planets.
This is because celebrities are in touch with the masses, and the 11th house is the house of the masses.
Take Ranbir Kapoor as an example. An actor who works for crores of people through films is a clear example of the 11th house at work: a huge public network, followers and the support of the masses.
